Manhas calls on MoS Skill Development, discusses various issues

JAMMU, Aug 27: Former President BJP J&K and Ex-MP Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas met with MoS Skill Development and Entrepreneu-rship Rajeev Chandrashekhar.
Shamsher Singh Manhas discussed various matters with honorable MoS. He also brought into notice of the minister that Jammu and Kashmir has a great potential in terms of skill development and could emerge as a hub of skill development programmes if adequate training facilities are provided to union territory.
He also requested the minister to depute a full time Director Mission Skill Development J&K so that a proper platform is provided to the youth which could help them in getting better employment opportunities.
He further said that due to the lack of a full time dedicated Director the numerous policies and grants of Skill development and entrepreneurship ministry are lagging behind in the union territory of J&K especially in Jammu region.
MoS Rajeev Chandrashekhar said that the Government is committed to ensure the academic welfare and bright future of the students. The Minister said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Skill development and entrepreneurial policies have been developed within the context of India’s unique demographic profile and nature of workforce. India is home to the second largest population in the world, with over 50% of India’s population below the age of 25.
It is important to improve employment opportunities through targeted skilling and employment generation initiatives.
He further assured Shamsher Singh Manhas that all the issues of concern forwarded by him will be addressed at the earliest for the benefit of J&K.
