Srinagar, Aug 28: J&K Central Non-Gazetted Electrical Employees Union (JKCNGEEU) today organized a protest against privatization of PDD while demanding the release of long pending salaries of daily wagers, regularization of their services and long-pending promotional issues of non-gazetted employees of PDD and SPDC.
Scores of employees and workers took out a protest rally at PDD complex Bemina and demanded the release of their pending wages and regularization of their services.
The protesters rue callous attitude of the present Government towards the workers
“Every time the workers and employees protest in favour of their rights, but authorities give assurances only,” General Secretary JKCNGEEU Purshotam Sharma said.
The employees said that they are against the wrong policies of the Government and said that through privatization of the power sector, the water resources of J&K would be exploited further.
“Already, our water resources have been exploited for many years. But now with this step, the power generated from the Union Territory will be supplied to other States while Jammu and Kashmir will be left to the mercy of God,” he said.
The protestors said that despite giving incentives to the employees, the Govt is adamant to destroy the career of the employees and the economy of the J&K by adopting such policies
Employees warned that in case the Government does not agree to their genuine demands, they will come out on roads and will boycott the departments.
