POONCH, Aug 29: In an endeavour to redress the public grievances at their doorsteps, the District Development Commissioner, Inderjeet visited Block Bufliaz and presided over a public outreach camp at the local Higher Secondary School.
Locals, PRIs and BDC Chairperson demanded augmentation of water and power supply, better medicare facilities and several specific issues including provision of adequate veterinary healthcare for the livestock, completion of Taranwali to Kalali PMGSY road etc.
They also demanded blacktopping of Bufliaz road, blacktopping of Bufliaz to Dogra Poshana road; besides early completion of Morha to Bagyal PWD road, Mora Hill kaka road, Surankote to Bufliaz road, Bufliaz main to Sawni road, Bheramgalla road, construction of link road Kaller Katha to Peer Bela, Panchayat Ghar for Panchayat Tahrawali, PHC for Taranwali, Check wall and motors for Bufliaz etc.
Some more issues included compensation for damaged crops, upgradation of Girl Middle School Bufliaz and Middle School Draba, renovation of primary and middle school buildings in Bufliaz B, PHC for Bufliaz, Trauma Hospital, establishment of Anganwari centre in Bufliaz B, widow pension to eligible persons, Ambulance for Poshana, verification of BPL beneficiaries, playground for Bufliaz and various other issues were raised in darbar.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands and gave on the spot direction to the concerned department for early redress of the same. He also assured that all their genuine grievances will be resolved in a time bound manner.
Revealing the status of the ongoing projects, the Executive Engineer PMGSY said that the remaining works of the roads would be completed within a month. Executive Engineer PWD informed that the work of Blacktopping would be launched in September and Hill Kaka Road will also be completed at the earliest.
All the other concerned district officers also assured realization of set targets within the stipulated time frame.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch inaugurated two day free medical camp at Poonch in presence of BDCs, DDCs, prominent citizens and the staff members.
The camp was organised by Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Poonch in collaboration with Shifa Hospital Srinagar
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School Surankote and reviewed its functioning at Management Committee Meeting (VMC meeting).
