JWAM demands blacktopping of Amphalla-Janipur road

JAMMU, Aug 31: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) along with local traders, residents today staged protest against PWD and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and demanded blacktopping of the Amphalla-Janipur road, here today.
The protestors were chanting slogans against the department concerned and served a 24 hours ultimatum to the JMC for the blacktopping of the said road.
Addressing the protestors, JWAM president, Sunil Dimple alleged the West Assembly Constituency is the most backward Constituency and there is no development taking place for the last many years. “The Amphalla-Janipur main road and Ward’s lanes are in dilapidated condition, debris are scattered in adjacent to the main road which poses threat to human lives but the department concerned seems least bothered about it,” he said.
He further said that the women, children, customers and even shopkeepers were facing a lot of problems due to the dilapidated condition of the said road as well as due to dumping of ‘malwa’ along the road.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to pass direction to the officials of JMC and PWD for early blacktopping of the said road, so that people don’t face any inconvenience and also alleged that Jammu stands nowhere in the list of Smart City Project due to its unhygienic conditions.
Ajay Sharma, Muna, Sudershan Sharma, Dheraj Gandotra, Anil Gupta, Ravi, Daleep Manhas, Prince Gupta, Navneet, Vishal Manyas, Ashwani Mahajan, Subash Gupta and many others were part of the protest demonstration.
