One dies, 148 test +ve in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 31 : Kashmir today reported 148 fresh cases of COVID-19, while one person died at SMHS hospital in Srinagar today. He was suffering from COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 74 from Srinagar, 27 from Baramulla, 21 from Budgam, 6 from Pulwama, 4 from Kupwara, 2 from Anantnag, 10 from Bandipora, 2 from Ganderbal and 2 from Kulgam.
As per official figures, 72,449 positive cases including 835 deaths and 71,060 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,938 including 282 deaths and 23,518 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,193 including 22,851 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,341 including 15,101 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,243 including 166 deaths and 14,043 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,452 including 16,221 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,638 cases including 9,497 and 101 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,125 including 9,998 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,419 including 11,293 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,598 including 5,534 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division have reached 202,396 including 199,142 recoveries and 2,242 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,330 including 1,012 from Kashmir division.
With 99 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 319,681, which is 98.25 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, Ladakh recorded four fresh Covid cases, taking the infection tally to 20,555, while the death toll remained at 207 as no new fatality was reported in the past 24 hours, officials said.
The Union Territory has registered 207 Covid-related deaths — 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil — since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. At present, there are 71 active cases in Ladakh, while 20,277 people have recovered from the infection so far.
Of the four fresh cases, two cases each were reported in Leh and Kargil.
Meanwhile, 18 fresh COVID positive cases were today reported in the Jammu region.
As against 18 cases, 36 persons recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 318 active positive cases.
