2 arrested, 7 stolen vehicles recovered

RAJOURI, Sept 1: The police arrested two persons and recovered seven stolen vehicles from their possession in district Rajouri today.
Giving details, a police spokesman said that Rajouri police received a reliable information that a group of persons operating in the jurisdiction of this Police Station Rajouri, who after obtaining Registration certificates of accidental/total loss vehicles, very meticulously punch the Chasis No. on suspected/stolen vehicles and then sell the same vehicles to gullible customers.
It was learnt that this gang has duped many innocent people of lakhs of rupees by fraudulent means. In this regard a case FIR No. 577/21 U/S 420/467/468/471/379/109 IPC has been registered at Police Station Rajouri.
During investigation two persons namely- Saleem Mailk, son of Saeed Ahmed, resident of Muradabad (UP), at present Kheora in Rajouri where he is running a workshop and Mohd Wahid, son of Mohd Alam, resident of Bada Kana, Tehsil Thanamandi, have been arrested. The police seized vehicles : Balleno JK11C- 4249; Eco JK11D- 2300, Alto K10 JK21C- 7670, Alto 800 HP 30- 7119, Alto 800 JK11- 5936 and M/Cycle UP 21AW- 1231.
The investigation was carried under supervision of SSP Rajouri, Sheema Nabi Qasba and Additional SP Vivek Shekhar, DySP Hq Vinod KUMAR and SHO Sameer Geelani.
Further investigation is going on and more recovery and arrests are expected, police said.
