ReT teachers hold protests

JAMMU, July 6: ReT Teachers and Education Volunteers under the aegis of All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum held protest demonstrations through out the State to press for their long pending demands including release of several months of pending salary of regularized ReT teachers.
The teachers also sought the intervention of the Government to resolve their other demands like inclusion of five years of ReT period for seniority benefits, regularization of EVs converted ReTs, transfer policy for regularized ReT teachers, SRO-43 benefits to ReTs and absorption of SSA posts under State Plan for smooth release of salary in future.
The main protest was held in front of Divisional Commissioner’s Office, Jammu, where ReT teachers under the chairmanship of provincial president, Rajesh Singh Jamwal and State vice-president, Younis Rahi Teli submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Divisional Commissioner amidst slogans in support of their demands.
In Udhampur, the protest was organized under the chairmanship of State vice-president, Vinod Sharma and district president, Lekh Raj Parihar. The hundreds of ReTs assembled at Mini Stadium Udhampur and after passing through the main Bazaars in the shape of rally, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through DC Udhampur. At Poonch, Najam Jafri, State general secretary of the Forum led the protest rally, which was taken from Pritam Park to DC Office in which hundreds of ReTs participated. PDP MLC Yashpal Sharma and senior PDP leader, Shah Mohd Tantray also accompanied the protestors to DC Office, where a memorandum of demands was submitted to the Government through DC.
At, Doda, the protest rally was led by district president, Sajad Malik and Barkatullah Wani, which was taken from Dak Bungalow and after passing through main Bazaars concluded at DC office, where a memorandum of demands was submitted to CM through DC.
Simultaneous protest demonstrations were also held at district Udhampur by ReTs to press for their demands including regularization of education Volunteers and enhancement of wages of ReTs. Hundreds of ReTs and EVs under the aegis of All J&K ReTs Forum assembled outside Dak Bunglow and in the shape of rally marched towards DC Office under the leadership of district president, Gul Zabir Ahmed Daing and State secretary, Behari Lal Sharma.
In Kathua and Reasi, the protests were led by Meena Kumari and Balwan Singh, The memorandum of demands were also submitted to the Chief Minister through concerned DCs.
Similar protests were also held at Rajouri under the leadership of State spokesperson, Naresh Sharma and provincial general secretary, Manzoor Khan. Hundreds of ReTs participated in the protests and raised slogans against the indifferent attitude of the Government towards their demands. Later a memorandum of demands was submitted to the Government through DC.
Hundreds of ReTs in Kishtwar district also held protest demonstration in front of DC office to press for their demands. The protestors led by Tanveer Ahmed submitted a memorandum of demands to Chief Minister through DC.
