Adjustment policy of Masters flawed: MLA

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, July 6: J&K National Panthers Party chairman and MLA Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh has alleged that adjustment policy of recently promoted Masters in School Education Department was flawed and faulty. In a press statement issued here today, Mr Singh, a former Education Minister, pointed out that the Department needed to explain in the first instance the inordinate delay of 11 months caused in the adjustment of promotee Masters on Jammu region, whereas, their counterparts in Kashmir were adjusted several months back. It will affect the promotion prospects of those from Jammu region. While flaying the criteria adopted for adjustment of the Masters, the NPP legislator questioned the logic and rationale behind changing the districts of the promotee Masters in all the districts despite availability of vacancies in their parent districts. He castigated in particular the transfer/ adjustment of promotee Masters in district Udhampur to Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar etc. Mr Singh pointed out that 76 promotee Masters from Udhampur were ordered to be posted in erstwhile Doda district despite the fact that there were more than 100 vacancies of Masters in Udhampur district. Majority of these vacancies existed in the remote areas of Ramnagar. Likewise, the transfers of Masters of Kathua to Reasi, Samba and Jammu to Udhampur, Rajouri and Poonch was unwarranted and uncalled for. He urged the School Education Minister to review the highly irrational and arbitrary policy of adjustment/ transfers.
