KATHUA, July 6: In a tragic road mishap the two truck drivers were crushed to death while third was injured at National Highway Bhagyal near here late last night.
According to police the two drivers from Haryana who were identified as Manoj Kumar and Ram Singh of truck numbers HR45A-9624 and HR-16B-0843 respectively were on their way to Jammu. They had parked their vehicles on the roadside at Bhagyal late last night keeping some gap between them.
The duo later started cooking meals in the space left between the two trucks on road side. Meanwhile, another truck bearing number HR-39-6088 came from the back and hit one of the truck parked on the road with force crushing the two drivers to death on spot.
The driver of third truck identified as Raj Kumar also of Haryana was also injured. Soon after the accident a police party led by SHO Police Station Kathua shifted all the three to District Hospital Kathua where two were declared as brought dead while the third driver is under going treatment.
The Kathua Police has registered a case. The families of the deceased drivers have been informed by the Police and their bodies will be handed over to them after postmortem.
