8 gamblers arrested with Rs 87,000 stake money

JAMMU, Sept 4: City Police here arrested 8 gamblers along with Rs 87,000 stake money and playing card.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station City headed by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch conducted raid in a hotel near Sunder Singh Gurdwara Road Hari Market and apprehended 8 gamblers along with Rs 87000 of stake money and one deck of playing cards.
The arrested persons were identified as Raman Kumar, son of Ajeet Kumar of Janipur, Imran Khan, son of Farooq Ahmed of Channi Rama, Surinder Kumar, son of Subash Chander of Rehari, Mushid Hussain, son of Matlob Hussain of District Poonch, Mohd Arif, son of AQ Zargar of Channi Rama Jammu, Pawan Kumar, son of Tilak Raj of Raipar Satwari, Raj Kumar, son of SK Dass of Shahidi Chowk District Jammu and Mohd Iqbal, son of Abdul Latief of Kheleni District Doda.
A case FIR Number 57/2021 under Section 3/4 Public Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station City and investigation started.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO North Sharad Kalu and SP City Mohita Sharma
