JAMMU, July 7: Army and police today carried out searches at forward village of Chowki Handan in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district following inputs given by some civilians about the movement of four militants along the Line of Control (LoC).
Reports said a joint team of Army and police conducted searches in the village and surrounding areas after getting the information. However, no traces of militants were found in the area.
SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi said the information appeared to be a hoax call. Some youth responsible for the hoax call have been identified, he added.
The search operation was called off this evening, he said.
