REASI, Sept 6: A young man was murdered by his elder brother at village Tote, under the jurisdiction of Reasi Police Station, here late last night.
Police said that Chamail Singh (31), son of Geeka, resident of Sarhi area of Tote, was stabbed to death by his real brother Lehar Singh after a shuffle between the two over some issue, last night.
The victim reportedly died on the spot while accused Lehar Singh fled the scene after committing the crime.
After the matter was reported, a Police party from Police Station Reasi was rushed to the spot and hunt was on to track the accused, said SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh, adding that a case has been registered in this regard and dead body was handed over to his legal heirs after postmortem.
Police sources said that both the brothers have a criminal background and they were involved in murder of their cousin several years ago. In that case, accused Lehar Singh was served an imprisonment of eight years while deceased Chamail Singh was a juvenile at that time, sources added.
