JAMMU, Sept 7: Reiterating the demand for giving all Constitutional rights to people of J&K, All India Backward Classes Union has appealed the Central Government to fulfill the promise of implementing one law one country instead of befooling people through gimmicks like repeated visits of Ministers on public expenditure.
The matter was discussed in a meeting of AIBCU, held here today under the chairmanship of its president Abdul Majid Malik and attended by its executive members including M R Bangotra and Prof Kali Dass.
The meet appealed the Central Government not to waste the public money on such visits which are nothing except facilitating the tours of Ministers to enjoy Jammu Kashmir climate.
The Union reminded that in January 2020, 30 Union Ministers had visited J&K UT, which was followed by frequent visits of Parliament Standing Committee, Delimitation panel visit in July 2021, recent visit of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla but there was no positive outcome of these tours on the lives and issues of J&K people.
“Whatever Government promised was never delivered on the ground. After abrogation of Article 370, nothing has changed except the sign boards. The situation has deteriorated and life of the people has become more miserable since August 5, 2019,” observed the meeting and sought to know fate of the memorandums submitted to the Union Ministers during their earlier visits.
The AIBCU also demanded that Government must focus on bringing down the prices of LPG, diesel and petrol besides the edible oils and daily consumption articles so that public may have a sigh of relief.
