JAMMU, June 2: Tourist facilitators of the winter capital today met DIG Samba-Kathua range and apprised him about the problems being faced by them due to the passing of tourist vehicles from the bye pass, without entering the city due to the construction work on BC road.
A joint delegation of Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal, All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association and Tourist Trades People Federation, met DIG, Samba-Kathua Range JP Singh and SSP Traffic Mohan Singh, and apprised them about the problems being faced by them.
They complained that the slow pace of the work going on at BC Road, is forcing the tourist vehicle from not to enter the city, which is causing great loss to the business of the hotels, lodges and other tourist related trades in the winter capital.
They suggested three alternatives to the officers to overcome the problems and facilitate the vehicles coming from Srinagar, Katra, Udhampur, etc to enter the city, which will cause no more loss to the tourist business.
DIG assured them to consider their proposal and also added that instructions for completion of work in-time has been issued to the agency undertaking the work at BC road.
