JAMMU, Sept 10: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented Dogri musical concert ‘Muskan’ in coordination with Directorate of Social Welfare Department J& K and Sangam Tru Art Production on the theme of ‘Drug Abuse’ at Rehearsal Hall Durga Bhawan Janipur, here today.
The aim of the concert was to protect the adolescents from getting exploited by the menace of drug addiction and enable them to adopt safe and rational use of drugs.
The concert was inaugurated by the chief guest VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GoI in the presence of guests of honour including Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director Department of Health J&K, Dr Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department Jammu and RP Amla.
The items prepared on the theme including “Nasha Na Karna Maan Lo Kehna”, “Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio” , ” Bacho Bacho Tobacoo Kola Bacho”, “Nai Pee Shraban”, “Bari Kharab Chutki” , “Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma” and nukkad play were presented to aware the masses during the concert.
The artists also presented awareness songs ‘Do Gaz ki Dori- Bari Zarori on COVID-19 pandemic’ which was written by Dr ML Dogra and music of the concert was assisted by Rajeev Saoltra.
During his welcome speech, Dr ML Dogra, chairman of the BLSKS said that the motive of the concert was to appeal the youth to stay away from the drug menace and also recalled the significant role of NGO’s for the last few decades for bridging this gap by creating low cost replicable models of health care such as child mental health, schizophrenia and psychotic conditions, drug and alcohol abuse, dementia etc.
Usha Raina, Chahat Chadha, Sanjeev Sodhi, Rajeev Salotra, Richu and many others were part of the concert, while Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
