Kissan Council urges Tomar for timely release of funds under CSSs

JAMMU, Sept 11: Tajinder Singh Wazir, president J&K Kissan Council urged Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar to give special attention towards Agriculture development in J&K by timely releasing funds under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs).
Wazir said Agriculture Production Department under the guidance of Navin Kumar Choudhary took all possible steps in doubling the farmers’ income in the UT.
He said one of unique policy for dairy farming and Agri Machinery available in the UT where farmers are given a free choice for purchase of Agri Machinery providing of animals for dairy farming and 1000 new milking animals purchased by farmers for their better livelihood. He said only hurdle is that funds under Centrally Sponsored Schemes are not available in time as Agriculture is a time bound activity.
He said last year schemes like Rastriya Krish Vikas Yojna , National Food Security Mission had no funds however the UT Government created a funds under Capex budget for farmers welfare.
He appealed the Minister that special focus be given to create Innovation and Agri Entrepreneurs Centre and Agriculture Technology Centre to provide technology from State Agriculture University to farmers of Jammu province. One time fund’s should be provided to SKUAST Jammu for world class Veterinary Hospital in R S Pura to cater the needs of dairy farmers for timely treatment of milking animals.
Wazir said that if Centre Government wanted to complete its slogan in Atamnirbhar Bharat and suggested that Union Government should focus for flower bulb production in Nunnar Ganderbal to cater the million dollars demand of flower bulbs which is fulfilled by countries like Holland.
