DODA, Sept 11: Asha workers of health blocks including Changa, Chilly, Jakyas and Gandoh staged a protest against the authorities for not redressing their demands.
The protesting Asha workers said that they are rendering their services efficiently for the past two decades without regular and adequate salary.
They said that besides overburdened assignments, their services were being utilised to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic from the past one year with a meagre amount of Rs 1000 as remuneration.
They said that they were being given very low incentives as compared to others and termed it as injustice.
Asha worker Shakti Devi said that they are protesting for a long time to get their demands redressed but every dispensation had let them down.
“We want the LG administration for regularisation and increase in remuneration to Rs 21,000”, they added.
