Sensational murder case solved; 7 accused arrested with weapons

JAMMU, Sept 12: Domana Police arrested seven accused persons with weapons who were evading their arrest in sensational Akalpur murder case.
As per police sources, on August 16 this year, a 50-year-old man was murdered and one another received injuries in attack by unknown assailants with sharp edged weapons in Akalpur area here.
The deceased was identified as Deepak Singh, son of Janak Singh of Gho Manhasa District Jammu, while the injured was identified as Jaswinder Singh, son of Rattan Singh of Akalpur District Jammu.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case FIR Number 229/2021 under Sections 302, 307, 382, 147, 148 and 149 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Chandan Kohli constituted a special investigation team led by SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and assisted by SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma and Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak SI Dilawar Kumar under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
The team while working on the leads both human intelligence and technical teams conducted raids inside and outside Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and finally arrested seven accused persons involved in the case along with the weapons, which they used for committing the crime. Civil society played crucial role in giving leads regarding the hideouts of the accused persons.
The arrested persons were identified as Vishavjeet Singh alias Vishu, son of Sai Dass of Gho Manhasan, Tehsil Marh District Jammu, Aman Singh, son of Gulchain Singh of Akalpur, District Jammu, Raghubir Singh alias Chhotu, son of Ramesh Singh of Akalpur District Jammu, Karanveer Singh alias Kush, son of Suresh Singh of Gumpul District Jammu, Vishav Sharma, son of Jaipal Sharma of Gangu Chak Marh, District Jammu, Jagjeet Singh alias Jaggi, son of Bhupinder Singh of Gole Gujaral District Jammu and Ravi Choudhary, son of Chander Bhan of Gajansoo, Marh District Jammu.
During preliminary investigation, it transpired that persistent domestic feud and past rivalry led to this incident.
However, further investigation of the matter is going on and in coming days as investigation proceeds, many more arrests are expected.
