JAMMU, Sept 13: A special meet of all stakeholders of Shelter Home at Boria Basti was organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in collaboration with NGO ‘Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra’-managing affairs of Home.
The aim of the meet was to spread widespread information about various aspects of Shelter Home and facilities available there for urban shelter-less people who can be accommodated there.
JMC Commissioner, Avny Lavasa; Vice Chairman JDA, Pankaj Magotra; Vinod Malhotra, Secretary Regional Red Cross Jammu; Member State Human Rights, M.I Zargar and JMC Councillor Ward 48, Sham Lal and others were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion JMC Commissioner said there are schemes for shelter-less persons wherein they are entitled for food, shelter, access to social security pensions, PDS, ICDS, identity, financial inclusion, education, affordable housing and accordingly requested all the concerned departments for linkage of shelter-less persons to the above mentioned entitlement schemes and also further requested NGOs and social activist for identification and enrolment of homeless persons in the Shelter Home at Boria Basti, Bahu Fort being managed by JMC.
