JAMMU, Sept 13: To brief about the importance of the Pitri Paksh (Shraadh Parav)-2021. president Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust has informed that this year 16 days long Pitri Paksh (Shraadh) 2021 is commencing from (Monday), the September 20 to October 6 (Wednesday). During Pitri Paksh, the rituals of Tarpan is performed for the departed souls to rest in peace. Shraadh Paksha is one of the most significant time to remember our Ancestors and pray for the departed souls to rest in peace. As per Hindu religious books, during the time of Pitri Paksha, if one has to offer prayers and perform certain rituals for their ancestors, he will be blessed by them. Tarpan during the time of Shraadh is equally necessary in order to get rid of Pitra Dosh (bad effects due to the non-performance of rituals of the departed souls). During these Shraadh days each day is dedicated as Tithi (date) of an ancestor.
