Jammu, Sept 16: Department of Environmental Sciences and Eco-Club, GCW Bhagwati Nagar commemorated World Ozone Day under the patronage of Principal of the college Prof. Minnie Sharma.
On this occasion, an on-line quiz was organized in which more than 100 students of the college participated.
The main aim of the quiz was to aware the students about the signifance of ozone layer for the survival of life on the earth. And acquaint them with this years’ theme of “Montreal Protocol – Keeping us, our food and vaccines cool”.
The quiz was organised by Dr Mosmi Raina, convenor of the Eco-Club.
On World Ozone Day, the NSS unit of Government College of Education, Jammu organized an online slogan writing competition, plant a sapling and pledge in collaboration with Nature Club of the College.
Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal of the College applauded the efforts of the NSS volunteers and appreciated the students who participated in the competition.
The program was adroitly conducted by Dr Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Nodal Officer along with Dr Shalini Sharma, HoD Environmental Sciences, Convener of Nature Club. Prof Seema Kumari, Prof Sarita Dogra and Prof Shapia Shameem Bhatti were also participated in the event.
The best three nominations of the competition will be considered by the organizers and the panel of experts will evaluate and declare the winners on the official website by September 18.
