Demarcate properties of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines: Select Committee

SRINAGAR, July 10: A meeting of Select Committee of Legislative Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah here today.
Threadbare discussion was held on the list of amendments to the bill seeking better management, protection, administration and governance of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious places in the State.
Legislators, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, Abdul Rehman Veeri and Ashwani Kumar Sharma gave their valuable suggestions to protect the property of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious places.
Committee directed the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Relief Commissioner, Migrants to maintain the records of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious places in the State on their website. It also directed the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts for demarcation of property of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious places in the State in the shortest possible time and submit its report in the next meeting of Committee.
Among others the meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Shailender Kumar, Secretary Law, Farhat Tasneem, Secretary Assembly M. Ramzan, Secretary Revenue Vinod Koul, Relief Commissioner, Migrants, R.K. Pandita, Deputy Commissioners, Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam and Budgam, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Kupwara, Pulwama, Additional Secretary Law, besides senior officers and officials of Assembly Secretary were present in the meeting.
