JAMMU, July 10: Mukesh Aggarwal, Proprietor M/s Suraj Enterprises, one of the alleged accused in the much publicized spurious drugs scam, surrendered before the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption and filed bail application on medical ground.
After hearing both the sides, Special Judge Anticorruption observed, “Court is of the opinion that even the interim bail at this stage cannot be granted to the accused as prayed for by the counsel for the accused. The prayer made by the prosecution during arguments that the custody of the accused is required by the Crime Branch is genuine”.
Accordingly, the accused was remanded to custody of Crime Branch with the direction that the medical examination of the accused as required shall be carried out and objections to the bail application be filed by the prosecution.
