Jammu, Sept 21: Two pilots have suffered injured when an Army helicopter have reportedly crashed in the woods of Patnitop Hills on Tuesday in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said that two pilots were critically injured in a reported helicopter crash in Shiv Garh Dhar area of Patnitop in Udhampur district.
“The pilots have been evacuated by the locals and rushed to the hospital,” they said.
Following the information, a police team was immediately dispatched towards the area, police added.
They said there was foggy weather in the area and the helicopter reportedly crashed due to poor visibility.
Earlier, Indu Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur had said , “As per initial reports, the helicopter has made a precautionary landing but we are verifying the facts,”
“Cannot confirm about the crash,” she said.
Meanwhile Deputy Inspector General of Police (Udhampur-Reasi), Suleman Chowdhary said that information about an incident is received and the teams have been dispatched to the spot.
“Due to excess fog in the area it is not clear that whether it was a crash or crash landing by the helicopter,” said the DIG.
On August 3, Army chopper crashed into the Ranjit Sagar Lake Dam in Basholi area of Kathua district in which two pilots were killed and the body of one of them was recovered. (Agencies)
