JAMMU, Sept 25: All India Jat Mahasabha has urged the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to grant OBC status to Jat community of J&K.
In a handout, Manmohan Singh Choudhary, former Mayor and J&K President of Mahasabha said, elections are near and everybody is trying to please the Jat community as it is a deciding factor in almost 20 constituencies of Jammu province.
He said that all the promises made with the community were never fulfilled.
Choudhary condemned the callous attitude of J&K administration for delaying the OBC status to Jats and said that PM Modi should personally intervene into the matter and direct LG’s administration to give OBC status to Jats as it is the community which is deprived of its due share as regard to jobs and political reservation.
He added that youth of Jat community is facing hardships.
Choudhary also demanded repealing of three Farm Laws.
