Bakaya asks KPs to be ready for long struggle

Passage of Kashmiri Shrines, Temples Bill

JAMMU, Sept 26: To seek opinion to further the agenda for the Passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill in Kashmir, Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organised a meeting of various KP organisations, temple committees and opinion makers today.
The meeting was chaired by Vijay Bakaya, former MLC and Chief Secretary, Swamy Kumar Ji and Shiban Khaibri, Chairman of PNBMT.
The agenda of the meeting was put forth by Dr.R.L.Bhat, chief spokesperson of the Trust. R. L. Bhat, while speaking on the occasion discussed the decade long struggle of the Trust in furthering the mission of the Temples Bill. He discussed about the various challenges faced by the Trust and the strategies to overcome them in the coming days.
The prominent who spoke on the occasion included Ashwani Chrungoo, senior BJP leader, B.L.Bhat, former MLC, Virender Raina, president Panun Kashmir, Prof B.L.Sadhu,
M.K.Yogi, NC leader, M.L.Goja, Prof. B.L.Zutshi, Chuni Lal Bhat, ASKPC, Desh Rattan, president APMCC among others.
Ashwani Chrungoo said that there is an increased possibility of the passage of the Temples Bill after the popular Government takes over in the UT.
Virender Raina said that it was due to the struggle of the Trust that a global consciousness could be created regarding the condition of the temples and shrines in Kashmir.
Prof. Sadhu said that the passage of the Temples Bill would act as a great confidence building measure for the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley.
Desh Rattan volunteered the support of its activists from Jagti for the purpose of demonstration as and when required by the PNBMT.
Vijay Bakaya in his presidential address said that there is a need to fine tune the strategies keeping in view the challenges faced by the community. He advised the community to remain ready for a long struggle and made it clear that the victory would be ours. He also laid emphasis to remain engaged with the contemporary political idiom and keep the narrative of the Temples Bill fresh and ready.
The programme was conducted by Activist H.L.Bhat and secretary Sundri Lal Koul read the welcome address. Chairman of the Trust Shiban Khaibri proposed the vote of thanks.
