ADGP Railways visits GRP Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 30: After assuming the charge of Additional DGP GRP J&K, Sunil Kumar paid his maiden visit to GRP Jammu.
During the visit, he held meeting with both SSPs i.e, Mohammad Arif Rishu, SSP GRP Jammu and Sanjay Kotwal, SSP GRP Katra alongwith all GOs/SHOs of both GRP units i.e, GRP Jammu and GRP Katra.
In the meeting, the security of all the Railway Stations falling in the area of responsibility of both GRP units i.e, from GRP Kathua to Katra remained the focal point. Threadbare discussions were held with the officers attending the meeting on the security scenario of the area and security arrangements made throughout the Railway line and Railway Stations of both GRP units.
ADGP Railways emphasized on round the clock presence and heightened alertness of the GRP deployment along the Railway line and at the Railway Stations. The vulnerability of Railway Stations and Railway track was also taken stock of and various measures were discussed to be put in place to ensure the safety and security of Railway track, Railway Stations and passengers arriving and departing at various locations in the area of responsibility of officers.
The various other aspects of both GRP units i.e, building infrastructure, basic facilities to the Jawans were also taken up for discussion and briefing was given to the officers to address the issues on priority.
The ADGP emphasized on the conduct of the Officers/Jawans while on duty. He also stressed to behave extremely politely, with humbleness and decently with all the arriving/departing passengers at the places of their duties. He also stressed upon to extend every possible help to all those passengers who are in need of it especially old aged passengers, the sick passengers and the specially disabled passengers. The ADGP also interacted with other Jawans/ Officers of GRP Jammu and listened to their grievances.
