ANTF nabs two with 18 kg charas

JAMMU, Sept 30: Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police today foiled a bid to smuggle charas worth lakhs of rupees.
On a tip off that one Hyundai I-20 car bearing registration number TS07FN-8637 driven by Shabir Ahmed son of Noor Ud Din Tantray of Sudrabal (Srinagar) along with Sayeed Bilal Qadri son of Syed Ghulam Geelani Qadri of Hamdaniya Colony Kralpora Bagh Mehtab (Srinagar) is smuggling a large quantity of charas from Kashmir towards Punjab, a team of ANTF immediately swung into action and laid Naka at NHW-44 near Environmental Park Jammu.
The car was stopped by the ANTF team led by SP ANTF Vinay Sharma and during search of the car, 18 kilograms of charas from three fabricated cavities (two fabricated cavities made in both left and right rear windows and one fabricated cavity made beneath the rear number plate of the car) were recovered. The driver along with the other person was arrested in and Hyundai I-20 car was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 13/2021 u/s 8/20/29 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu. Anti Narcotics Task Force is investigating further links in the case and more arrests are expected.
