CCI delegation calls on Sadhotra, opposes shifting of Bus Stand

JAMMU, July 13:  A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu called on Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra at Summer Secretariat Jammu and apprised him about the difficulties being faced by business community and the people of Jammu.
The Chamber president Y V Sharma, who was heading the delegation,   apprised the Minister about the difficulties, which the general public, pilgrims, tourists in general and trading community are likely to face with the shifting of General Bus Stand (ISBT) to some isolated place near Narwal. Mr Sharma pointed out that it was the long pending demand of Chamber to upgrade the present Bus Stand on modern lines and convert it into a terminus point for lifting and dropping the passengers only, besides a multistoried complex to be developed on this area which will not only decongest the traffic but will also earn good revenue for the Government.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and appreciated the concern of the Chamber for the development of Jammu. He assured to take up this matter with the concerned authorities for resolution of the same at the earliest.
