JAMMU, Oct 4: The Institution of Engineers India, Jammu Local Centre celebrated World Habitat Day at Channi Himmat, Jammu.
A seminar on the theme “Accelerating Urban Action for a Carbon-Free World” was organized in which large number of engineers, professionals and members of the civil society participated.
On this occasion Vinod Malhotra, Former Development Commissioner, Town Planning Organization, Jammu, was the chief guest and Dr Sanjay Khar, Chairman, IEI Jammu Centre presided our the function. The welcome address was presented by Dr Sanjay Khar.
Nine numbers of the technical papers on the theme were presented by PK Nanda, BL Rawal, Anil Verma, Sunil Seth, Sumil Goyal, Ranjeev Sawhney, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Tej Kumar Sharma, . Joy Ganjoo, Member Technologist.
Malhotra, chief guest informed the house that all the stakeholders must work together in a effective and mutually beneficially manner to implement measure for a Carbon free Jammu & Kashmir. He further emphasized to create green zones within Jammu City during implementation of Small City Mission in Jammu.
CP Sharma, Honorary Secretary of the centre conducted the proceedings of the seminar and presented vote of thanks.
