JAMMU, Oct 5: Pointing finger towards the economic policies of Modi Government, General Category People’s Front (GCPF) today said that failure of the Government in checking price rise has perpetuated tax terrorism and is frustrating people.
The Front expressed concern over the unprecedented price rise of essential commodities including diesel, petrol and LPG. “The uncontrolled inflation is due to wrong economic policies of the Modi Government which inflicted a lot of miseries upon people of the country,” said Yash Paul Sanson, president of the Front while addressing a meeting of GCPF office bearers which was chaired by Raj Kumar Banathia, Chairman of the Front.
Sanson said that Government has been working like a Corporate House with sole aim of imposing heavy taxes on people, exploiting them in the name of nationalism and development. He appealed the Government to chalk out a strategy to check price rise and providing benefits to the rich.
Som Nath Sharma, general secretary of the Front said that the Government has denied access to basic fundamental rights on basis of caste, class and religion or economic status. He appealed the Government to consider enacting a law to ensure universal enforcement of the principles of equality, justice and non-discrimination. He demanded ‘Equality Act’ to end injustices and discriminatory practices.
Vice-president of GCPF, V K Sharma criticized the Government for continuous suppression of General category people on the basis of their caste, class and religion. “If it does not stop, it will have serious consequences for BJP Government at the Centre,” he said and asked the Modi Government for removal of restrictions imposed on the application of basic fundamental rights.
Deepak Khajuria, Dr Bansi Lal, Bhushan Pargal, Gopal Dass Verma, Surinder Kumar and Vijay Kumar also expressed their views in the meeting.
