JAMMU, July 13: Pakistan Army today handed over a civilian of Digwar, Poonch to Indian Army officials during a flag meeting held at Chakan-Da-Bagh in Poonch district.
The civilian, Mohammad Rashid son of Sattar Din, a resident of Digwar Terwan in Poonch district, had inadvertently crossed over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir on January 7 this year and was arrested by the Pakistani troops.
He was in Pakistani jails for past about six months.
Yesterday, Pakistan Army’s 36 Punjab Regiment had conveyed to Indian troops that they wanted to return Mohammad Rashid, who was found innocent. A flag meeting was today arranged at Chakan-Da-Bagh at 12.15 pm in which Pakistan Army handed over Rashid to India.
After preliminary questioning, Army has handed over Rashid to Poonch police.
