BATOTE, June 3: Police today arrested two persons for illegally selling gas cylinders at Ladwal Morh, Batote.
Police spokesman said that, on a tip off about illegal selling of gas cylinders at Ladwal Morh, Batote, Police party from Batote Police Station rushed to the spot, arrested two persons and seized the truck bearing registration No JKO2AS 9867 of Killo Gas Agency, Bari Brahmana loaded with 200 cylinders. He added that the truck carrying the gas cylinder was on its way to Dooru, Anantnag from Bari Brahmana, Jammu.
“The arrested persons were identified as Javed Ahmed, son of Sanaullah of Sadiwara, Anantnag and Anshuman Gupta, son of Bansi Lal Gupta, of Batote”, spokesman said, adding, that the another person identified as Vijay Singh, son of Shanker Dass of Batote, who was waiting for his turn in his Omni Van (JKO2B 7590), fled from the spot with 4 cylinders.
A case under FIR No 51 has been registered at Police Station Batote and started further investigation.
