RAJOURI, Oct 6: In two separate cases, the police recovered drugs and liquor in district Rajouri and arrested two persons in this connection.
Official sources said that a Police party from Nowshera while patrolling in Rajal area found a person moving in suspicious condition and on seeing police party he tried to escape but was apprehended by cops. He was identified as Jaswinder Kumar alias Sonu, son of Karam Chand, resident of Lamberi in Tehsil Nowshera.
During search 07 gms of heroin was recovered from his possession and a digital weighing machine was also seized. A case FIR No. 204/2021 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Nowshera and investigation of the case has been taken up.
During yet another Naka near Shankar Anand Ashram, one Maruti Alto car bearing registration Number JK08B-1090 was stopped by police and during checking 450 bottles of JK Special Whisky (450 bottles 180 ml each) of illicit liquor was recovered from Girdhari Lal, son of Saraswati Dass hailing from Lamberi in Tehsil Nowshera.
A case FIR No. 205/2021 u/s 48 (A) of Excise Act has been registered at P/S Nowshera, and accused arrested.
