Patil visiting Kashmir today

JAMMU, Oct 7: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Incharge J&K affairs, Rajni Patil (MP) is visiting Srinagar tomorrow, on the direction of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, to express solidarity with the families of the targeted killings by terrorists in Kashmir.
Patil had to offer condolences to the family of ML Bindroo and others martyred on Tuesday but today’s killings of two teachers of Minority community, has hastened her visit. She will rush to Srinagar tomorrow to offer condolences and express solidarity with the families of those martyred in two incidents besides taking stock of the current situation with party colleagues and others.
JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma disclosed that Rajni Patil has been instructed by the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi to visit Srinagar immediately to convey personal condolences on behalf of the party and leadership and convey the message of solidarity with the minorities and other innocents, becoming soft targets of the designs of terrorists in Kashmir.
The recent spurt in the selective and targeted killings has caused sense of insecurity and fear amongst the common citizens especially minorities in the Valley.
Patil shall be on three days tour of Kashmir and Jammu from tomorrow and likely to submit a detailed report to the party high command, about the emerging situation in Kashmir. She will be accompanied by the JKPCC chief, GA Mir during her three days visit here.
