Accused in Shopian acid attack case arrested

Srinagar, Oct 8: Police in Shopian today claimed to have solved the acid attack case by arresting the accused person involved in the commission of the crime.
Police said that on 05-10-2021 Police Station Keller received information that one person namely Waseem Ali Shah son of Ali Mohammad Shah resident of Aadoo Keegam had attacked a girl with acid, resulting in severe burn injuries to her body. She was immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 84/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Keller and an investigation was set into motion.
“During the investigation, all legal and medical required formalities were completed. Multiple raids were conducted by Police to nab the accused person involved in the instant case,” police said.
After strenuous efforts by police, the police said that the accused person involved in the commission of the crime has been arrested. “He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. Further investigation into the case is going on.”
