KATHUA, Oct 8: In its decisive action against the consumption and production of illegal liquor menace in the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today recovered 15 liters of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Kathua and one lady was arrested in this connection.
Police team of PS Kathua led by Inspector, Om Parkash Chib, SHO, PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua, Shammi Kumar JKPS during patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area near Kukey Chack apprehended one suspect namely Soma Devi wife of Ram Lal of Chack Drab Khan tehsil and district Kathua.
On physical checking, 15 litres of illicit liquor was recovered from her illegal possession. Thereafter all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized and one lady was arrested. A case vide FIR No. 437/2021 u/s 48 (a) Excise Act was registered at PS Kathua and further investigation has been initiated.
