JAMMU, Oct 8: An 82-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances at his Janipur residence late last night.
“The deceased was identified as Krishan Lal son of Chatru Ram, resident of House number 7, Lane Number 7, Butta Nagar, Upper Paloura (Jammu),” police sources said, adding, as per preliminary investigation, the man died after falling from the roof top of his house.
It is a matter of investigation whether he fell from the roof top accidentally or pushed by someone, sources said, adding, two daughters (from third wife) of the deceased namely Sushma (30) and Bharti (16) received minor injuries later after a scuffle with their step brother, Satish Kumar, over death of their father.
After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection at police station Janipur.
