EJAC seeks regularisation of workers, conduct of DPC

JAMMU, Oct 9: The J&K Govt Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC-R) has demanded regularisation of daily wagers and other consolidated workers and re-engagement 900 ICDS employees ousted recently by Government.

Addressing a press conference here today Babu Hussain Malik, president of the EJAC projected the burning issues of the employees and daily rated workers. He said that due to anti-employee policies of the present J&K Administration, the working class is suffering badly. He pointed out that many daily wagers working in various departments were not getting their wages since long. This amounts to exploitation of the workers.
The Trade Union leader demanded that Government must release three installments of the pending DA of the employees and pensioners without any more delay. He said the Government should also review its decision with regard to lowering retirement age from 60 to 48 years or 22 yrs of service for the employees.
He further demanded regularisation of casual labours, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and helpers, NHM employees, contractual teachers/ lecturers and other RET/REK/REJ workers; re-engagement of 900 ICDS workers, implement Minimum Wages Act, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre/ amendment in ASO-333, enhancement of Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month and holding of DPC in all departments after a gap of 6 months regularly.
