NMC holds meet, highlights demands

JAMMU, July 14: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged the Prime Minister to announce release of 10 per cent DA in favour of both Central and State Government employees and pensioners in the forthcoming Cabinet meeting.
This was demanded by Subash Shastri, president, NMC while addressing a meeting of NMC workers here today.
He said that salaried class is facing lots of economic hardships due to rising prices of the essential commodities and early release of DA due from this July will bring some relief to them.
“Till the new pay commission is constituted and recommendations implemented, 50 per cent DA be merged with basic pay/pension”, Shastri demanded.
He also demanded interim relief of 20 per cent of basic/pension be provided to employees, release of salary of motivators working in IWDP phase II and their regularization, enhancement in the wages of daily wagers to Rs 10,000 per month and their regularization, etc.
The meeting was attended by Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sham Lal Sharma, Surinder Kumar, Ragupal, Yog Raj, Barkat Ram, Bupinder Singh, Ram Lal Sharma, etc.
