Two persons detained in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Oct 10: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today raided seven locations in Kashmir including the house of Pakistan based commander of The Resistance Front (TRF), Sajad Gul.
The NIA raided the house of Sajad Gul son of Dr Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh of Rose Avenue Zainakote in Srinagar this morning. According to police sajad is the TRF commander based in Pakistan.
The NIA also raided in the house of Suhail Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Solina Payeen in Srinagar.
They also conducted a raid at Bahauddin Sahab Nowhatta in the house of Tahir Ahmad Najar son of Mohammad Sultan Najar who is dealing in Pashmina work and seized one laptop and one mobile. The NIA also detained Najar.
They raided the house of Nayeem Ahmad Bhat of Aaripora Zewan who is working as driver in Hassan Road Construction Company owned by Ghulam Hassan Mir of Athwajan, Srinagar.
The raid was also carried out at the residence of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Baghi Nand Singh Chattabal who is running a poultry farm. Five mobile phones were seized during the raid.
They also raided the house of Afhan Parvez Jarabi son of Parvaiz Ahmad of Anzimar, Khanyar, who deals in sports items. He was also detained by the Investigating agency.
The NIA in a statement said that it conducted searches at seven locations in the Kashmir.
In a statement, a spokesperson of the NIA said that it conducted searches with the assistance of CRPF and J&K Police at seven locations in Kulgam, Srinagar and Baramulla in case RC-04/2021/NIA/JMU.
“The case was initially registered as FIR no. 234/2021 dated 27.06.2021 of PS Bahu Fort District Jammu, relating to the recovery of an IED from a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist in Bathindi Jammu on 27.06.2021 for indulging in terrorist acts in J&K. NIA had re-registered the case as RC-04/2021/NIA/JMU dated 19.07.2021. Earlier Three LeT terrorists were arrested in this case,” read the statement.
“The investigation has revealed that Pakistan based handlers of proscribed terror outfit LeT and their associates based in J&K had conspired to cause extensive terror activities for harming general public”, read the statement.
“They had planned that responsibility for the terrorist acts so committed would be taken by the pseudo-acronym TRF so as to maintain plausible deniability and evade Law Enforcement Agencies,” it read.
The NIA during the searches recovered many digital devices including mobiles, pen drives, data storage devices and other incriminating materials.
“During searches today, two TRF operatives namely Tawseef Ahmed Wani S/o Mohd Maqbool Wani R/o village Bangdara, District Baramulla and Faiz Ahmed Khan S/o Mohd Afzal Khan R/o village Panzat, Wampora, District Anantnag have been arrested for their involvement in the conspiracy. Further investigation in the case continues,” it read.
