Khan elected president HCSWA

Srinagar, Oct 13: Elections of J&K and Ladakh High Court Staff Welfare Association (JKHC SWA) were held today in the court complexes of Srinagar and Jammu and the President and Secretary of the Association were elected unanimously by the members of the Association.
The elections concluded in a cordial atmosphere and almost all the voters participated in the elections process. After counting of votes the candidates Altaf Hussain Khan and Mukhtar Ahmad Wani were declared as winning candidates for the post of President and Secretary of the Association respectively.
Three candidates Altaf Hussain Khan, Shakeel Ahamd and Sourab were in the fray of presidential post and Mukhtar Ahmad and Raj Kumar were in the fray of Secretary post.
Winning candidate for presidential post Altaf Hussain Khan secured 226 votes (187 from Srinagar and 39 from Jammu) while losing candidates Shakeel Ahmad and Sourab secured 13 and 148 votes respectively.
For the post of Secretary winning candidate Mukhtar Ahmad secured 213 votes (186 from Srinagar and 27 from Jammu) while his rival Raj Kumar secured 174 votes. Elections were held under the observation of Joint Registrar (Adm) Jammu and Registrar (Adm) Srinagar and the results were declared by Registrar Judicial Srinagar.
