5 drug peddlers arrested with heroin

KATHUA/SAMBA, Oct 13: Hiranagar, Kathua and Vijaypur Police arrested five drug peddlers along with heroin.
As per police spokesman, a team from Police Station Hiranagar led by SHO Inspector Anil Kumar Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal during checking at NHW Londi Morh intercepted a Maruti Ciaz car bearing registration number JK08E-2492.
During checking, police team recovered 60 grams heroin from the possession of three persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Asif Pretyal of Sahar Longate, Parvez Ahmed of Kanyari and Ankush Sharma of Palli.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Kathua led by SHO Inspector Om Parkash Chib under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Shammi Kumar and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal during patrolling duty at Shiva Nagar arrested a person along with 6 grams of heroin.
The accused was identified as Amar Dev of Ward No. 19 Housing Colony Shiva Nagar District Kathua.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Vijaypur during checking near Railway Crossing at Rahya Morh intercepted a motorcycle.
During checking, police team recovered approximately 36.05 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohammad Shakeel, son of Mohammad Din, a resident of Pratap Singh Pura, Laliyana Bishnah, District Jammu.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Hiranagar, Kathua and Vijaypur and investigation started.
