Kalash Yatra marks start of Bhagwat Saptah

JAMMU, Oct 14: A grand ‘Kalash Yatra’ was taken out here today to mark the start of Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah Katha and Gyan Yagya.
Organized by Akhil Bhartiya Dharam Prachar Sewa Samiti (ABDPSS), the Yatra started from Bakshi Nagar and passed through various streets and Bazaars amidst the chanting of devotional songs and culminated back at Bakshi Nagar.
A large number of devotees attired in traditional dresses participated in the Kalash Yatra.
After this, the Kalash (pots) filled with water were placed on special place with the chanting of Vedic hymns.
Shrimad Bhagwat Kathakar, Phool Kumar Shastri, Sat Pal Singh Rathore and Bhupinder Shastri also participated in Kalash Yatra and lauded the efforts of organizers for organizing the religious event in the city of temples especially in the Ashwin month of Hindu calendar.
Speaking on the occasion Sunil Sharma, National Organizer of ABDPSS Jammu informed that the Bhagwat Katha will continue till October 20 and a Hawan will be performed on daily basis from October 14 to 20 from 7 am and Bhagwat Katha will be there from 1 pm to 5 pm.
On the last day of Katha (October 20), a grand Sant Sammelan will start at 11 am which will be followed by a Bhandara.
Those who attended the Kalash Yatra were Raman Sharma, Swatantar Bakshi, Raja Singh, Parshotam Sharma, Kiran Kohli, Bishan Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Swarn Lata, Abhilasha Sharma, Sujata Manhas, Sushma Sharma, Rani Devi and others.
