Jora inspects work on shopping complex

SRINAGAR, July 16: As part of the focus on the development of infrastructure in Srinagar city, the Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora on Tuesday visited Parimpora and inspected the construction work on Habba Khatoon Shopping Complex.
The Minister was accompanied by Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, G. N. Qasba and other senior officers and officials of the Corporation.
Mr. Jora was informed that the four storey shopping complex comprising of 17 shops, 4 halls and one kitchen/restaurant is being constructed at the cost of Rs.496 lakh, out of which Rs.182 lakh have been spent on the skeletal structure.
The Minister was further informed that after its completion, revenue to the tune of Rs.12.87 crore per annum as rent charges is expected to be generated from the shopping complex.
Mr. Jora took stock of the whole complex and asked the concerned officers to complete the work at the earliest.
On the occasion, a number of people met the Minister and highlighted various public interest issues including repair of lanes and drains of the locality. The Minister directed the SMC authorities to redress the grievances at the earliest.
