BJP holds Sarva Dharma prayer meeting for Uttarakhand victims

JAMMU, July 16: On the 30th day of the Uttarakhand tragedy BJP organized a prayer meeting here today to pay tributes to all those who lost their lives in natural calamity in different parts of the State and those of the security personal who attained martyrdom while rescuing the stranded pilgrims.
Sarva Dharma prayer was also held and 2-minute silence was observed by the gathering for the peace of the departed souls.
Besides BJP leaders, heads of various social and other organisations also attended the meeting to pay tributes to the people who lost their lives in natural calamity.
BJP M P & J&K Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khana, while paying tributes, said that this tragedy has shaken the whole of the nation and its magnitude warrants it being declared a national disaster with rescue, rehabilitation and reconstruction process be conducted on war footing in view of the heavy monsoons. He also appealed to all to pray for all those who are still missing and contribute whole heartedly for the relief of the affected.
BJP State president, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that in these times of national tragedy  country men must unite as one and come to the rescue of their affected and suffering brethren. He appealed for active co-operation from people of all sections of life in coming forward to contribute in relief related matters.
Leader of Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria said that the Party activists are working over time to collect donations for the BJP Uttarakhand Aapdha Kosh. He praised their efforts and also the people who have voluntarily made contributions for this noble cause.
National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that this calamity has caused irreparable loss to the precious lives besides the fragile eco system of the Himalayas. Rajesh Gupta, on this occasion, said that few families from Jammu had also gone to Kedarnath and other places and unfortunately some of them have not returned to their families and the State Government should take up the matter with the Uttarakhand Government to know about them.
VHP President Dr. Ramakant Dubey, Ved Mandir Sansthan President Amar Chand, Social activist Sohail Kazmi, Arora Bans State president, Ramesh Arora, Kashyap Rajput Sabha president Murari Lal, Kranti Dal general secretary Pritam Singh, BJP leaders Dr. Jitendra Singh, Chander Prakash Ganga, Col.(retd)  Uttam Singh and many others paid tributes to the victims of Uttarakhand tragedy.
