Relief holders meet Apex members

JAMMU, June 3: The protesting relief holders at Jagti township today accused the Government of deliberately ignoring their plight. Ajay Bhat and O N Kaw while addressing the dharna said that thought they are on chain hunger strike for over two months now the State and Central Governments do not bother to settle the issue by enhancing the cash relief as demanded by them.
They warned to launch the indefinite fast in case the demand was not settled within a week’s time.
Meanwhile the relief holders who are on fast in front of Relief organization organized a meeting with Apex Committee members today and discussed the issue with them. They urged them to take up the issue with Government forcefully and get the same solved.
The Apex Committee members assured the relief holders that they will take up the issue with the Government within two days.
The members of Apex Committee who were present included H L Chatta, H N Jattu, R K Bhat, Piaray Lal, Roshan Lal Raina, Ashok Hangloo, K K Khosa and A K Raina vice president AIKS.
The camp representatives included Ravinder and Muno Ji from Jagti camp, Mr Talashi and Vimal Ji from TRT Nagrota, A K Kaul from TRT Muthi. Besides the representatives from Bantalab, Janipur, Bohri, Poloura and Muthi also were present.
