Kathua police rescues 17 bovines, arrests one person

KATHUA, Oct 19: In continuation to thwart the conspiracies of bovine smugglers within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today foiled bovine smuggling attempt near Tarnah bridge, Dyalachak, rescued 17 bovines, arrested one person and seized one vehicle involved in the smuggling of the animals.
A police team led by Inspector, Anil Kumar Sharma SHO Police Station (PS) Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan during naka checking duty on NHW near Tarnah Bridge, Dyalachak intercepted one truck bearing Registration Number JK02AR-9187 which was being driven by person namely Gora who was alongwith his accomplice namely Bhaag Hussain alias Bhagu son of Nami of Haria Chack Tehsil Marheen.
On seeing police party driver of the vehicle managed to fled away. During checking of the vehicle 17 Bovines were found loaded in it and one person namely Bhaag Hussain alias Bhagu son of Nami was arrested from the truck. Thereafter Police team rescued 17 bovines, and seized the vehicle. By taking this cognizance case FIR No. 138/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA has been registered at Police Station Hiranagar and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
Kathua police is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb bovine smuggling menace. District police seek support from people to share information about bovine smuggling with Police for the cause.
