Accommodation for students of Ved Vidyalaya inaugurated

JAMMU, Oct 20: The newly constructed complex to accommodate students at Ved Vidyalaya in Ved Mandir was inaugurated today.
A handout stated that aim of Ved Mandir is to promote Vedic Culture and with the help of Maharishi Ved Vyas Sansthan Pune, the Ved Vidyalaya with name Maharaja Pratap Singh Ved Vidyalaya was started on October 22, 2011.
The Vidyalaya was opened after renovating the existing Yagya Shalla and was inaugurated by Dr. Karan Singh, former MP in the presence of Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj.
The Ved Vidyalaya was running with 20 students pursuing a seven year course.
Till date 48 students have taken training in Vedas and 24 students have completed the seven year course and got further training in Vedas.
Since the accommodation was not sufficient, a proposal was made some years back to construct the new building with the help of some Trusts.
The handout further stated that main donors in this regard remained Jhandewala Mata Mandir Trust and Bharat Petroleum Corporation under CSR contribution.
Apart from this, the public at large in Jammu contributed with open heart for completion of the building.
The construction work was undertaken by and completed under the guidance of Er. K.K Mengi and Vishal Gupta, Architect.
The opening ceremony started yesterday with Pooja and other rituals under the guidance of Dr. Shiv Raina and Hawan ceremony was held today morning.
Main speaker on the occasion was Swami Hridayanand Giri Ji Maharaj who appealed to the public for donations for the completion of remaining construction work.
President of the organisation, Suresh Chander delivered vote of thanks while Ved Mandir Committee members including Sudesh Pal, Amita Sharma, K.K Mengi, Alok Sharma and Bal Krishan Gupta were also present on the occasion.
