Poonch ops enter Day 10, another woman detained

JAMMU, Oct 20: Army operations in Bhatta Durrian forests in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district for the militants entered 10th day today even as police detained another woman for providing food and shelter to the ultras taking total number of detentions to nine.
Tahira Kouser, 24, wife of Mohammad Asif, a resident of Bhatta Durrian was detained by the police today for providing food and shelter to the militants, the officials said.
Troops continued massive searches inside the dense forests but the militants remained untraced.
Nine Army soldiers including two JCOs have been martyred in the operation.
Meanwhile, Army, CRPF and police today arrested a suspected militant and recovered one grenade from his possession at Drabshalla Thathri in Kishtwar district.
He has been identified as Sohail Ahmed son of Noor Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Bathri Gandoh in Doda district.
He was arrested by a joint team of Kishtwar Police, 26 RR and 52 battalion of CRPF.
